Our Mission
Our mission is to create a network across the country including England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland to combat tenancy fraud in social housing. To act as a local, regional and national access for members for best practice,information and guidance relating to tenancy fraud; To promote discussion and the sharing of knowledge, awareness and good practice.
We consider tenancy fraud to consist of:
• Subletting
• Misrepresentation
• False succession claims
• Abandonment
• Right to buy and right to acquire fraud
• Temporary accommodation fraud
• Unauthorised assignment
• Key selling
• Shared ownership application fraud
• False applications for a joint tenant or authorised occupant to be created
