"We provide support to all social housing providers and over the last few months, have been undertaking some important research around the value of tenancy fraud. Working in conjunction with the London Borough's Fraud Investigator's Group (LBFIG) and supported by a number of key stakeholders, a new formula has been created which will enable all providers to apply a consistent approach to determining how much an instance of tenancy fraud costs their organisation, and use that calculation to assist them in recovering funds during legal proceedings.
Charity Fraud Awareness Week was a landmark event for the TFF, as the formula that has been created through our research will, on 19 October 2021, be made publicly available as a free help sheet to all providers and we hope it will be widely used by all. We are exceptionally excited by this, as it is a proper and fitting culmination to all the hard work that has been put into getting to this point. To gain not only the support of key sector and counter fraud partners, but the support of the Fraud Advisory Panel in promoting the formula is incredible.
Please download and use the free resources available on the Prevent Charity Fraud website, but also by joining the webinar to support the roll out of the help sheet where you can hear from a number of national tenancy fraud experts, including from the TFF Executive Committee. If you're interested in doing so, register here to find out more
We thank you for your support in tackling tenancy fraud."
