The 12 April 2022 marks a major milestone for the Tenancy Fraud Forum, being the 10th anniversary of its inception. Stephanie Toghill, Vice Chair of the Tenancy Fraud Forum, had the following to say about this momentous occasion: ‘It’s incredible to think that today marks 10 years since the Tenancy Fraud Forum was established. When the original idea of forming the TFF to help councils and housing associations better tackle tenancy fraud was first discussed, we wondered just how much support there would be. After all, we had no funds and were entirely dependent on the support and goodwill of the housing sector. Today we have hundreds of members and several regional groups across the country, and have worked in partnership with our fraud fighting partners including LBFIG, NFI, The Fraud Advisory Panel, NIHE, CIPFA, CIFAS and the CIH. We have also helped with the creation of the Prevention of Social Housing Fraud Act, our sell out annual conferences are going from strength to strength and recently we led the project to re-evaluate the cost of tenancy fraud for the sector. It makes us all very proud to be part of the TFF.
Most importantly of all, the TFF would not be what it today without our members in the TFF community, who share their wealth of knowledge and expertise to help others tackle tenancy fraud more effectively. Thank you for making the TFF such a brilliant resource and for helping to recover hundreds of social homes for those in genuine need’
